Prose or Poetry

It I had to read, I would choose to read a prose for sure. Poems are too harder to understand, and in some other ones that has easier word choices, the author stops a sentence in a weird place, and makes the sentence really confusing. As Mr. McCool said in class today, a prose is any writing that is not a poem. I would rather read ten essays or even more then that then to read and to understand a poem. At least I can understand what the essays are talking about when I just read them, if they aren't using really hard words, but when I read poems and I have no idea about what it is trying to imply, I get frustrated. I prefer fiction more because it would make me use my imagination. I can imagine anything in any kind of scene, and imagine what kinds of equipment the characters in the book use. Also, fact proses are really boring to me. A lot of them talk about things that we already know, so we feel sleepy when we read them. Also, fact proses don't use a lot of imagination, in fact, probably not even a bit of imagination is used when you are writing or reading a fact prose.

Film v Print

I think that the major difference between movies and books are that when you are reading a book, you will have to imagine the scenes, but if you are watching a movie, the scenes will be in front of you. So, when you are reading a book, you will use a lot of imagination, but when you are watching a movie, other people did the thinking for you already. A book can show what the person is thinking about, or some detailed actions that even if the movie has it, the audience may not notice. A movie can show us how the scenes and the characters look like. Most people now like to watch movies, including me too, but there are actually bad things about watching movies. First of all, it hurts our eyes, even though books do hurt eyes too, reading books won't be that "poisonous". Second of all, it lowers people's imagination. When people are reading books, they will have to imagine how the characters look like, what scenes there are...etc. But when people are watching a movie, the movie shows the people everything. Third of all, filming a movie is a big waste of money and resources. A movie can cost A LOT to film it. Why don't people just read books?
PS: I know it's kind of off topic, but I don't know what to write about.

Making a Choice

I would choose to kill three people instead of letting all of us die together. The first reason is that I could write more words if I make this blog about choosing three people. The second reason is that I actually do think that if i have to choose, I would really choose to kill three people. As I said in many of my previous blog posts, I am a person that is very selfish and as long as I'm happy, I won't care to sacrifice other people. The reason that I choose these three people are because we don't really talk that much in school. It's not because I don't like them. So, the three people I would choose would be Jenny, Alyssa, and Angela. I'm not being mean to them, it's just because we don't really talk to each other even when we have the same classes. I didn't choose the people that say mean things about me, like Jasper, Eddy, Isabel, or Jonah, because the things that they say sometimes even make me laugh because they're just so funny sometimes. Also, I know all the other people very well and I am closer to them, so if I get stuck in a room, we can all have fun together and wait till someone comes and saves us.

My Stuff

If I was stuck in a room like Anne Frank and her family, the five things I would want to bring with me would be Annie Huang, my computer, books, my itouch and some paper. First of all, I would want to bring Annie with me, because she's my best friend, and we can chat all day long without getting bored. So, when I get bored, we can play and have fun. Second of all, I would bring my computer. I know that even if when I go on facebook or Yahoo Messenger, there won't be anyone online to chat with me, but I can do other things on my computer. There are many applications that can make me spend my whole day playing around with. Thirdly, I would bring some books to read. Although I don't read all the time, but when I start reading a good book, I won't be able to stop. The books that I would bring would mostly be comic books and Chinese novels. Those are the kinds of books that I prefer to read. Fourth of all, I would bring my itouch. The games are very entertaining and I can spend my whole day on it. Lastly, I would bring some paper so that when I feel bored and feels sick about the games, I could draw or fold the papers.

Who Do You Want To Be

It doesn't really matter to me about who I would be in this play. But if I really have to choose, I would start from choosing the people that don't need to act as much as the others. It doesn't matter if I will have to read a lot, it's just that I hate acting. I would rather read the whole play out loud, then to act it out. My first choice would be the narrator because the narrator doesn't need to act. All the narrator has to do is to read out the parts, and won't be really that involved in the play, and I won't feel that embarrassed, since I'm a shy person and I get afraid when I have to act in front of people or in front of a camera. I will forget what to say when I'm acting, and forget what to do when I'm speaking. So, my second choice would be to be Anne Frank. She mostly is acting instead of speaking. The longest part that she was speaking was in the beginning when her voice was reading out the diary she wrote. But at that part, she doesn't need to act also. She only needs to read. Then, in the rest of the parts in the play, she doesn't really talk, so this would be my second choice.

Teens

I think that Anne Frank is a very mature girl for her age and can adjust to the changes easily. Also, she's very smart, and overall, she's a good kid. She's mature because when she knows that she can't leave the room at all, she didn't act immaturely to run out of the room to do whatever she wants. A lot of teenagers now don't listen to what their parents say, and purposely do thing that their parents told them not to. They just do things that they want to, and don't think about the consequences. She can adjust to the changes in her life easily, and didn't cause any trouble. A lot of the teens these days can't adapt to new environments, especially if it's such a big difference. Teens now like to chat with friends always, and play games, and make noises. But Anne has to keep quiet all day, even at night, she was kept inside the room, and she couldn't contact her friends, not even her best friend. If it was me, I would probably commit suicide. Life like that is too painful for me. So, she is an optimistic person, and can live her life happily until the Nazis killed her.

Trapped!

I can't imagine my life being trapped in a few small rooms with my family with no electronic games, no cell phones, and no internet. To me, without those electronic devices, life is just totally boring. I wouldn't know what to do to kill time. Nowadays, when I get bored, I just go on facebook, or start to chat with people online. I would probably just sleep as much as I can everyday, and just walk around, sing in a low volume, doodle, or just sit there. The good things are that there isn't school, which means there's no school work to do, you won't need to hear annoying teachers yelling all the time, and you don't need to wake up so early in the morning to go to school. The bad things are that the life will be SO boring that a person could possibly die because of boredom. Even if a person has a lot of imagination, it still isn't possible to be in his/her tiny world everyday. Actually, I am a person who can't stand boredom. If I was in Anne's situation, I would probably just commit suicide. I would not want to get caught by the Nazis, but I do not want to waste my life doing nothing in rooms.

Why?

The Nazis and Hitler felt that they need to eliminate many different types of people because they were afraid that the people would overthrow them by having different kinds of people that were good at different things and would gather together and rebel. Another possible reason that they felt that they needed to eliminate different kinds of people just for fun. They are "famous" for being cruel and doing things that normal people wouldn't think about doing. Things that they do are unpredictable, so they might just kill the different people so that they could see different reactions from them. I think that having fewer different people or more different people doesn't really matter to me. But if I really had to choose, I think that having more different kinds of people will be better. Not matter if there are many or less kinds of people, humans just have conflicts all the time. If there are less different people, they might all like the same things, and fight over things, but when there are many different kinds of people, they might not like each other when they find out that one doesn't agree with what one another says or likes. The diversity of people doesn't make any difference. But having more different people will make life more fun and exciting and vice versa.

Luck?

I think the statement Brian made "His survival is dependent on luck more than anything else is." is actually true, and I agree with it. Even if he has all the tools he needs, he may not be able to live for so long. For example, if he was not lucky, he would've already died in the plane crash, and went down with the pilot and the plane together. Also, if he was not lucky, the bear he met could've killed him instead of picking the berries. Although luck is a very important part of letting Brian being able to live in the wilderness, his past experiences was also very important. If he didn't know how to make fire, he's probably already dead a long time ago, instead of living for such a long time. The knowledge of making fire is very important, and because Brian had it, he was able to make the fire, although he didn't succeed at his first try, but he still eventually succeeded. Also, he did develop new knowledge. Everyone would if they would have to live in the wilderness by themselves. For example, he learned not to be so careless. Also, before, when my mom was scolding at me, I got lucky how there was a patient that had to see her at that time, so I could sneak out of her clinic, and come back home. It was pretty embarrassing to let other people see me get scolded. So, to me, it's a difficult situation.

My Winter Holiday

In this holiday, I didn't really go anywhere, but because my birthday was in the break, so my mom let me have a birthday party. In the afternoon, we went singing in the "Holiday KTV" for four hours. It was hilarious. We all made jokes about each other, and sang, and ate, and had a lot of fun. After the four hours, some of the people who went came to my house. We ate hot pot and watched a scary movie. It was awesome, and I kept screaming because things just kept popping out of nowhere. My mom got shocked also when I screamed. She used her hands to cover up my mouth too. Although it was a scary movie, we still kept laughing. Another more memorable thing that happened in the break happened at the New Years Eve. My family, my brother's friends and I went up to Taipei. My brother and his friends went to listen to the concerts and stuff, but I stayed at home. No one was really online, so I couldn't chat with them. I got so bored, I wanted to cry. So, I kept chatting with the same people which got kind of boring in the end. The worst things were that I couldn't sleep at night. My brother and his friends kept playing "Mahjongg"for a long time, and I don't know what happened to my dad. He probably had a nightmare, because he kept screaming "HUH HUH HUH AHHHH!!!". Another thing that bothered me was my allergies. I guess that the blankets had some dust on it, because I kept sneezing all night long. It was probably one of my worst nights ever.
